A forgotten classic is VANEXA's second album "Back from the ruins". More mature than its predecessor, the band impresses with good songs and melodic, medium-high vocals that fit the band's material pretty perfectly. The beautiful cover artwork does the rest. The LP rightly enjoys a very good reputation among collectors. It took a long time for the CD reissue to be released. The following album "Against the sun" sees the band turning away from typical 80s metal towards more melodic songs with an AOR influence. I can't really get on board with that, especially since "Back from the ruins" is a really strong album.

Very fine typical 80s Metal with good songs and a really perfect fitting vocalist. An italian Metal classic which is highly recommended. Most collectors know about that so the LP became very rare. The CD-Version finally makes it easier to listen to this fine stuff.

Solid Italian metal album, the second album by Vanexa. "Back from the Ruins" offers fast metal with occasional breaks without compromise. Well-instrumented and sung, with a nice gatefold cover and decent production, you can add the album to your collection without hesitation.
